November Events & Q2 Progress Reports

As we enter November and approach Thanksgiving break, I can’t help but reflect on the gratitude I hold for this school community.  Thank you for sharing your students with us.  Their endless curiosity, joy in movement and learning, and sense of care for themselves and one another never ceases to amaze me.  I am lucky to lead this school, and grateful to have our families as partners in this most important work (which sometimes includes getting pied in the face, as I did a few weeks back at our Fall ExtravaGALSa)!

Make sure to read about all of our upcoming events below, and in particular note that your student should be bringing home a formal progress report on Friday, since we are already halfway through Quarter 2.

Important other notes this week:

  • Trash Sculpture Photo Gallery - If you are interested in seeing your student’s trash sculpture, click HERE to access our online photo gallery!
  • Inclement Weather Reminder - GALS follows all inclement weather school closures and delays made by Denver Public Schools. When DPS schools are closed due to the weather, GALS will also be closed. Broadcasts are usually made by 6:00am on the DPS website (dpsk12.org), and on the three major local news networks. When DPS calls a delayed start, GALS will follow suit. Please call the front office with any questions (303-282-6437).
  • Enrollment Events at GALS - So many of you are asking to help us enroll more amazing students at GALS!  For information about enrollment events (info sessions & shadowing opportunities start this week), please reach out to Alex Jimenez (alex.jimenez@galsdenver.org) or Danielle Ennis (danielle.ennis@galsdenver.org).

Here's what is coming up!

Now - November 15 Your Voice Survey Window The DPS “Your Voice/Tu Voz” Family Survey is open now! You can access the survey link HERE. Responses to the survey are anonymous and serve to inform decisions on how we can better serve our DPS community.
