    • 90% of families believe GALS prepares  their students for success
    • GALS Denver maintains a green rating on the State of Colorado’s School Performance Framework
    • In ELA, GALS Denver scored 52.23% higher than the all-district and all-school average in the state of Colorado.
    • In Math, GALS Denver scored 19.8% higher than the all-district and all-school average in the state of Colorado.

Since our founding, we’ve served more than 1700 girls in the Denver metro area.

GALS is the only all-girls+ school in the state of Colorado, creating a pipeline of mentally strong, academically achieving young students ready to lead toward a better future. By pairing a rigorous traditional curriculum with embedded social-emotional learning, advocacy, mental health support, and daily physical movement, GALS strengthens the fabric of support for middle school girls.

Did You Know?

Our movement-led approach reflects the reality that 80% of women in C-suite positions played sports in school or beyond. Through our GALS Series, advocacy events, and the REDI Lab program, GALS students gain the skills and confidence to step into leadership, think creatively, and develop solutions to the issues they care about most.

Why We Need GALS

We know that middle school can be especially hard on girls’ self-esteem, academic performance, and leadership development. We intervene early to set our girls+ up to lead effectively and advocate for the changes they want to see in the world.

  • To Improve Girls’ Academic Performance: Middle school is a critical period when girls often experience a decline in both their math performance and their attitudes toward the subject. Greater exposure to high-achieving boys in high school negatively impacts girls’ science and math grades. Read more from the National Bureau of Economic Research here.
  • To Improve Girls’ Mental Health: Girls+ in Colorado are facing a mental health crisis that cannot be ignored. Across the state, adolescent girls are experiencing alarming rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation at levels that have escalated sharply in recent years. • To Improve Girls' Leadership Potential: Women+ remain significantly underrepresented in leadership, with progress toward equity moving at an unacceptably slow pace.

Our Donors

Our donors show up to support GALS’ mission everyday. These families are the reason we are able to offer such excellent support to our girls+. Please help us appreciate their support.

Our Funders and Partners

At GALS, we believe that our partners expand the potential of our work. We are proud to partner with these organizations to make our mission come to life.

I am so glad that my daughter has a supportive school environment during these formative years. She absolutely loves going to school every day!
