Timeri Tolnay Bio

Timeri Tolnay is an accomplished educational leader who starts and scales learning organizations. With a focus on nurturing teacher development and building high-functioning, collaborative teams, Tolnay has successfully founded educational ventures and secured funding to support her initiatives. Timeri began her career as a Middle and High School English Language Arts Teacher, and advanced to a School Literacy Coach and District Literacy Specialist for Denver Public Schools. She later worked to support the Colorado School of Mines professors as a Faculty Developer. She also founded, grew and exited from two for-profit, education ventures: Inquiry By Design and EdCuration.

Tolnay has co-authored two publications focused on improving instructor practice: 

• Bringing teacher learning to life: Courageous teaching using peer learning labs to elevate efficacy 
• Development and use of the Engineering Learning Classroom Observation Tool (ELCOT) to support improved professional learning for STEM faculty. 

With a Master's Degree in Instructional Design from the University of Colorado, Timeri advocates for active learning environments led by teachers facilitating students’ construction of knowledge. She continues to strive for excellence while maintaining a humble approach to her work, recognizing the collective efforts of partners and teams in achieving success in the field of education. In her personal time, Timeri enjoys spending time with her daughter, reading, hiking, skiing, golfing, scuba diving, and improving her Spanish through international travel.
